     Ruth Jean Chamblin, 84, of Peoria Heights, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon.
     Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with the Rev. Steven Gossmeyer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at Historic Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
     Ruth was born on March 19, 1928 in Peoria, a daughter of Frank and Violet (Berwick) Jones. She married Francis Chamblin in Peoria on July 7, 1955. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2007 in Chillicothe. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Wayne Woodruff; four brothers; and two sisters.
     She is survived by her children, Janet (Allan) Davidson of Topeka, KS, Daniel (Alesia) and Jason (Debra) Chamblin of Walterboro, SC, Melissa (Wesley) Krus of Norfolk, VA and Linda (John) Hess of Chillicothe; sisters, Effie White and Carol “Dolly” Gossmeyer of Peoria Heights; seventeen grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
     Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association – Central Illinois Chapter.
